Srinagar/Nov,14: Two encounters are underway between militants and government forces in Lam area of Pulwama district and Nowbug Kund un Qazigund area of Kulgam district police said today.
The official said SOG Awantipora and 42 RR of army cordoned off the Lam forest area of Tral after inputs about the presence of militants.
“As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering off an encounter,” said an official.
Another encounter was triggered between the militants and the government forces in Nowbug kund of Qazigund area in Kulgam district after sleuths of 9RR and SOG men cordoned off the area. A police official said as tge government forces were approaching toward the militants hiding in the area they were fired upon and enciunter started beteeen the militants and the government forces and the ecounter was going on till last reports came in.
More details abiut both the encounters are awaited.
