Jammu: Minister for Finance, Employment & Labour, Dr Haseeb Drabu Monday asked the key departments including PWD, Health, PHE to execute a ‘Consolidation and Completion Plan’ aimed at delivering completed, operational projects/schemes to the people for upcoming financial year.

The Minister passed these directions while chairing a series of meetings to review the status of incomplete and ongoing projects of various departments.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary B B Vyas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary Finance, Navin K Choudhary, Principal Secretary Health, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner Secretary R&B, Sanjeev Verma, Secretary to Govt PHE, I&FC M Raju, Commissioner Secretary Animal & Sheep Husbandry, GM NABARD, besides other officers.

Stressing on adapting target-oriented approach for completion of various ongoing projects/schemes, the Minister stressed upon the departments to complete ongoing projects in a time-bound manner and not to initiate new projects during the current and next fiscal year.

Dr Drabu asked the departments to reallocate the resources in such a manner that those projects in which more than 50% work has been done are completed within the next financial year. He further instructed the departments to complete all such projects by the end of this financial year where only 25% of work is required to be completed. He said the Finance department is committed to provide additional funds if required to complete such projects within the specified timelines.

He also asked the departments to take judicious view of their long running schemes and review their present-day feasibility to ensure proper application of financial and physical resources of the state.

During the meeting, the Administrative Secretaries presented a detailed report regarding the status of various ongoing projects/schemes.
