HP records 74 point 25 pc voter turnout in Assy polls

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh recorded 74 point 25 per cent voter turn out till the end of polling at 1700 hrs in the Assembly elections held on Thursday which was 73 point 51 per cent in 2012 and 64 per cent in 2014 Parliamentary elections. ECI spokesman disclosed here the polling percentage in Himachal Pradesh on completion of poll.

Shimla district recorded 73 pc polling till 1700 hrs, including Jubbal Kotkhai 81 pc, Rampur 74 pc, Chopal 73 PC, Shimla Rurbal 72 PC, Theog, Kasumpti and Rohru 71 pc, Shimla Urban 65 pc.

In Solan 73 pc polling in the state till 1700 hrs as Doon recorded 84 pc polling, Nalagarh 82 pc, Arki 71 PC, Solan 67 pc and Kasuli 60 p c.

In Kullu district polling went up to 81 per cent in Manali assembly segment it was 79 pc, Kullu 86 pc, Banjar 85 pc and Anni 76 pc.

In Mandi district polling recorded 73.58 pc in which Seeraj 82 pc, Balh 80 pc, Nachan 78.37, Sundernagar 76.29 pc, Mandi 76.7, Karsog 75.68 pc, Jogindernagar 72.40 pc, Sarkaghat 67.9 pc, Darang 67.2 pc Dharmpur 64.22 pc In Hamirpur district 69.5 PC including Bhoranj 65.88 pc, Sujanpur 70.27 pc, Hamirpur 69.11 pc, Badsar 70.01 pc and Naduan 72 pc.

In Spiti vally about 80.43 pc polling has been occured in which highest turnout was at 73A Key polling station where 100 per cent poling take place.

Addressing media persons at 1900hrs Chief electoral officer said that during the election 33 ballot units, 29 control unit and 79 vvpat were replaced as they developed the sang.

He said that total 11150 VVPAT were used EVM units comprising of 11283 ballet units and 9809 control unit were also used during the polling.

He said that 2300 polling station were linked with web caste.

Election commissioned claimed that election process was fully transparent and peaceful as about 2345 accused who had been issued non bailable warrant by the court and 602 preventive arrest were being made to prevent the the violation of MCC and People Representation Act.

As many as 435 polling stations were recorded voting after 1700 hrs. Mr Rajput told media persons here that about 90 complaints of paid news were registered in the state out of which 25 were issued the show cause notices.
