Srinagar: Former Minister Ab Gani Vakil has warned a state wide stir by his newly floated party “J&K Bachao Tehreek” if forces inimical to peace and unity of the state instigate actions to divide people on religious and regional lines. He also sought probe into the assets of both sitting and former MLAs and MLCs and ministers against cases of corruption are pending for disposal in several investigation agencies of the state government. He also reiterated his commitment to fight against dynasty politics of the mainstream political parties in the state.
Addressing a one day party convocation at Town Hall Kupwara the “J&K Bacho Tehereek” President Vakil said some people of disintegrating tendencies are hell bent upon to create a wedge between the people of the three regions and people of different religions in the state but his party will fight tooth and nail such disruptive forces and foil their nefarious designs.
Hitting out at both the central and state governments for applying discriminatory yardstick in crusade against corruption Vakil said if National Investigative Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate are probing charges against separatist leaders and put them behind bars then why Mehbooba Government in Jammu & Kashmir is not reopening the corruption cases of both sitting and former MLAs, MLCs and ministers to show equal treatment to both mainstream and separatist leaders in crusade against corruption. He alleged the even some incumbent ministers holding key portfolios and legislators are amassing wealth but Mehbooba government has virtually given them an open license to loot by prevailing upon the investigative agencies in initiating action against the accused.
Reiterating that dynasty politics mainly propagated by mainstream political parties particularly National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the mother of all ills in Jammu & Kashmir Vakil Farooq Abdullah that why he himself and his son Omar Abdullah were silent over autonomy when they were ministers in the central and dared Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that whey she did not utter a single word over her party’s demand for “self rule” when she was Member Parliament.
