Jammu: Thirteen army men were injured, five of them critically, after their vehicle met with an accident in Banihal area of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
An official said that a Casper vehicle of 12 RR on routine patrol in the area rolled down at an under construction four-lane bridge at Rattan Bass Banihal, resulting in injuries to thirteen personnel.
He said that dozens of labourers working on the highway had a narrow escape because of the accident.
“Most of the soldiers suffered fractures,” said a doctor at Emergency Hospital Banihal, adding the five critically injured troopers were airlifted to Udhampur Base Hospital.
He said eight other injured were shifted in ambulances from the facility to Udhampur Base Hospital.
