Jammu: Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, organized a ‘Voluntary Blood Donation Camp’ in collaboration with Department of Blood Transfusion & Medicines, Govt. Medical College, JKSACS and Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu here Tuesday.
110 volunteers including teaching/non –teaching staff and students donated blood in the camp leading to collection of 93 units of blood . 70 students donated blood for the first time.
On the occasion, Dr. Vijay Sawhney, HoD, Blood Transfusion & Medicines, Govt. Medical College, delivered a motivational lecture on voluntary blood donation.
Dr. Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET encouraged the students to participate in this camp as “Rakht Daan is Maha Daan”. She stressed on the growing need of blood in the State and commended the young volunteers for the noble act.
