Jammu: An awareness programme on protection against ‘Sexual Harassment at Workplace’ was held here at Women Studies Centre of Government College for Women, Parade.
The awareness event, organised by J&K Women Development Corporation, witnessed a thought provoking lecture by Dr Shivani Suri Verma.
Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, the Principal of host College was the Chief Guest. Also present were Dr. Aruna Dubey, HOD Home-Science department, Prof. Nidhi Kotwal, Director Women Studies Centre, Prof. Seema Jolly and Dr. Anamika Baru.
Dr Shivani talked about types and forms of ‘Sexual Harassment’, its impact and consequences on victims, need to prevent ‘Prohibit and Redress’ this evil practice under Act-14, 2013.
Earlier, the session started with a welcome address and Introductory Lecture by Rifat Qamar, Incharge, Development Officer, Jammu Division, J&K State.
The programme ended with interaction and feedback from the students.
