Jammu: Governor N. N. Vohra Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh have in their separate statements greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev’s Birthday.
In a message of greetings, the Governor N N Vohra described Guru Nanak Devji as an apostle of peace and tolerance whose teachings would continue to inspire generations, leading them to the path of righteousness and brotherhood. He said Guruji strove all his life for promoting social justice and equality and to bring about peace and harmony among the communities.The Governor hoped that the celebration of this auspicious event would contribute towards strengthening brotherhood and communal harmony and would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In her message of greetings, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti described Guru Nanak Devji as an apostle of peace and tolerance whose teachings would continue to inspire generations, leading to the path of righteousness and brotherhood.
The Chief Minister hoped that the occasion strengthens brotherhood, communal harmony, amity and secular values in the State.
In hismessage of greetings, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh described Guru Nanak Devji as an apostle of peace and tolerance whose teachings would continue to inspire the generations to come.
He further hoped that auspicious event would contribute towards strengthening brotherhood and communal harmony and would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
