Srinagar: Member Legislative Council, Khursheed Alam Thursday pitched for a special package for the old city of Srinagar also known as Shahr-e-Khas to restore its erstwhile glory.
During his tour to various parts of Old Srinagar, Alam met scores of people from different walks of life and listened to their grievances.
He said the present dispensation wants to develop the Shahr-e-Khas on modern lines in keeping with its traditional aesthetics intact. He said trade and other activities have suffered heavily in this part of the Srinagar and there is urgent need to provide a special package for reviving the Old City’s glory.
“The present government led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed for the well being of Srinagar,” Alam told the people. “The Government is duty bound to work for your welfare.”
The MLC was accompanied by MLA Batamaloo, Noor Mohammad Sheikh and former MLA Dr. Ali Mohammad.
