Srinagar: Despite rejection of dialogue by the Hurriyat Conference, the Government of India’s representative Dineshwar Sharma will be visiting the Kashmir valley on November 6 to hold talks with different delegations.
Local news gathering agency KNS quoted Sharma as saying “I will be coming to Srinagar on November 6 to Srinagar to meet delegations and people there.”
Sharma said that he is yet to finalize the number of days he is going to stay in Kashmir.
“It (My visit and stay) depends on the number of people and delegations whom I will be meeting,” he said about his visit.
Asked that the Hurriyat Conference has rejected the dialogue, the representative said, “Let me come there, then I will see.”
Over the fate of earlier interlocutors and their reports submitted by them, he said he did not want to comment on them.
“I have no comments on the reports submitted by earlier interlocutors.”
Sharma, a former IB Director, was announced by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh as the representative of the government of India, with cabinet secretary rank, to hold talks “with everyone” in the state.
The Joint Resistance Leadership trio Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik have rejected the dialogue to be initiated by Sharma.
