Steps afoot to develop Health sector in remote areas: Veeri

Anantnag:  Minister for Revenue Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri Wednesday said steps are afoot to develop health sector in remote areas of the state.

The Minister said this after inaugurating 10 bedded NTPHC (New Type Primary Health Center) at Khiram Anantnag.

Veeri asked the officials to ensure all equipments and medical staff round the clock in the hospital so that people of the area can avail medical facilities in their neighborhood. He said health sector will be upgraded in terms of manpower and equipment across the state.

He also said Government is working towards complete revamp and overhaul of the health sector and in due course of time this sector will be in best shape.

He also said an effective mentoring system has been put in place to ensure accountability and transparency in delivery of health services.

Revenue Minister had a detailed tour of the health center and ensured that all the facilities have been put in place for the smooth functioning of the health center.

He asked the officials to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in the center.

Earlier, Revenue Minister inaugurated Dormitory at Ziyarat Shareef Khiram constructed by Tourism Department.

On the Occasion, the Minister said Government will provide all facilities for the devotees who throng in huge numbers.

He also said religious tourism has a big scope in the state and people from far and wide come to pay obeisance at  Ziyarat Shreef Khiram. He asked the officials expedite the process of fencing of shrine and construction of Foot Bridge.

He also asked the officials to construct more washrooms in the vicinity of the shrine and start construction at an earliest.

He was accompanied by, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Younis Ahmed Malik, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem-Ul Rehman SE Anantnag, Director Tourism Kashmir Mehmood Shah, CMO Anantnag and other officers of the district.
