Jammu: Lashing out at the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, mainstream opposition National Conference on Tuesday demanded appointment of special audit of the Union Government to probe utilisation of funds sanctioned by the Centre.
”Enquiry Commission should be appointed on various workings of the department in the state,” Devendra Singh Rana, provincial president, National Conference told reporters here Tuesday afternoon.
He said, ”I appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to appoint special audit of Government of India to see where is the money coming from the Centre in Jammu and Kashmir is going.”
”Is the money really being utilised properly or filling the coffers of who are in power in Jammu and Kashmir, is needed to be probed,” said Rana.
He said, ”Me along with MLA Bishnah Kamal Arora, have boycott the District Development Board (DDB) meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh because they don’t want to listen to the our issues of concern.”
”Deputy Chief Minister has failed to serve to the people, who elected them and cause of Jammu. BJP has failed on all fronts and now they are forcing government officers to be card holders of BJP but we will not allow them,” said Rana.
He however, said administration has to be neutral and added, ”we will become voice of Jammu and expose the wrongdoings of the government and every department.”
Rana said, ”officers cannot be champions and pracharaks of the BJP,” adding, ”they (BJP) want to suppress the voice of opposition. They have become intolerant because they are inefficient and corrupt.”
