Mir Zahoor distributes free poultry birds at Chattlampora village in Pampore

Pampore:  Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad Monday distributed 12500 poultry birds free of cost among the families of village Chattlampora in Pampore Constituency.

The funds in this regard have been released by the Minister out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The Village Chattlam has been adopted as Poultry Village which is of its first kind in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister expressed hope that the people of the village will optimally utilize this scheme to further boost their business thus raising their socio-economic standards.

District Development Commissioner, Pulwama G M Dar, Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Muhammad Yousuf Chaproo, Chief Animal Husbandry Pulwama and other district administration officers besides a good number of people were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Backyard poultry rearing has many benefits and it is profitable for rural areas. He said the Department of Animal Husbandry has already been given directions to aware general masses about the schemes launched by the Government besides providing them latest technical know how about the benefits of poultry rearing. He said the concerned department also been asked to ensure every possible help to the poultry rearing at their door steps so that maximum lot to be benefited by the schemes and programs of the Government.

Referring to the development of Chatlam Sar, the Minister said a Detailed Project Report (DPR) was earlier prepared for the purposes. He said an amount of Rs 25 lakh has been sanctioned for the purpose and the work on the development of Chattlam Sar will be started soon.

The Minister further said delivery of basic amenities to people at their door steps is among priorities of present Government headed by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. He enjoined upon the Officers to work with more and dedication and to ensure availability of basic amenities including essentialities to the people, particularly during ensuring winter months.

The Minister said liberal funding has been earmarked for undertaken various developmental works under various sectors in Pampore Constituency during the current fiscal but need is to utilize them in full and judiciously. Mir Zahoor said the directions have already been given to the concerned departments to achieve the targets in a time bound manner so that maximum lot benefited.
