Justice Kirmani releases Shahnaz Rashid’s ‘Door Pahan Deewaran Manz’

Srinagar:  A book titled ‘Door Pahan Deewaran Manz’ of Shahnaz Rashid was released Monday by Justice (Retd) Bashir A Kirmani here at an auditorium of  and Public Relations (DIPR).

The function was organized by organized by Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK).

The function chaired by Justice Bashir A Kirmani was also attended by Director Information Muneer-ul-Islam, Secretary AACL Dr Aziz Hajni, President AMK Dr Shujat Bukhari, Farooq Nazki, Naseema Shafai, among others.

On the occasion, Justice Kirmani congratulated the author Rashid for coming up with an attractive composition and said the poet in his poems has drawn the sketch of some occurrences and described them beautifully by turning sadness, disappointment into victory and triumph.

Poetess Naseema Shafai termed Rashid as modern day Rasool Mir.

Dr Aziz Hajni invoked need of modern criticism and praised the young generation poets who according to him have kept the tradition of Kashmiri poetry alive.

Director Information Muneer-ul-Islam informed the gathering that Information Department work on state-of-art Media Museum and Library is in full swing for which one crore rupees has already been sanctioned by the Government.

He said the Department is contemplating to shift Reference Library from Press Colony to DIPR because of less space there and are proposing to come up with place for exhibition of art and photography at DIPR.

The Director said the DIPR will also conduct 10-day workshop on photography and creative writing.

On the occasion Dr Nazir Azad presented a paper wherein he discussed symbolism and imaginary in poetry of Shahnaz Rashid.

Noted poet Zareef Ahmad Zareef, eminent journalist Riyaz Masroor, poet Rafiq Raaz, Columnist Z G Muhammad and Academician Sheikh Showkat were also present on the occasion.
