DDC Sgr visits Chatti Padshahi to take stock of Guru Purab arrangements

Srinagar:  District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Monday visited Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara at Rainawari to take stock of arrangements made for Guru Purab celebrations on November 4.

Concerned senior officers from PWD, FCS&CA, PHE, Health, Police, Traffic Police, SRTC, Fire & Emergency and SMC accompanied the DDC during the visit.

During the visit, the DDC was informed that most of his instructions passed in the review meeting on October 28 stand answered with arrangements for adequate lighting, cleanliness and food distribution for the Gurudwara langar set up for visiting devotees been made for the occasion.

SE PDD informed the DDC that a curtailment-free schedule has already been fixed for the area during the celebrations period between November 2 to 4 and assured of fixing the main street light by tomorrow as instructed. The SE was also instructed on the occasion to ensure that all lights on the Gurudwara road are functioning during the celebrations period.

Members of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee Srinagar led by president Budha Singh thanked the DDC for prompt action on their requests.

The DDC was also briefed about traffic and parking plans formulated for hassle-free gathering and smooth celebrations at the Gurudwara. It was reiterated that there will be a one-way traffic on the route to the Gurudwara and dedicated parking spaces around the gurudwara for the devotees.

It was also said dedicated ambulances with paramedic staff and a medical aid camp with a doctor will be made available at Chatti Padshshi on the festive days.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shah said the district administration is keen on making the Guru Purab celebrations a memorable occasion and is looking forward to provide all possible support in this regard.
