Srinagar/Oct,29: Two militants and a a police constable were Sunday morning killed in a fiercely fought encounter between the militants and government forces in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. A police official said “after the encounter started in the area, heavy stone pelting was reported in the area. Police constable Zahir Abbas was killed in the gun fight.
In the wee hours on Sunday the government forces cordoned off Mir Mohalla village of Hajin area after receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of active militants. During the cordon and search operations, militants opened fire triggering an encounter with the government forces. Reports said operation has been called off in the area after the killing of two militants and a police constable of the Special Operations Group of Jammu & Kashmir police
