Srinagar/Oct,24; Governor N N Vohra on Tuesday appointed retired Indian Police Services (IPS) P.L. Gupta as the Chief Vigilance Commissioner in the State Vigilance Commission (SVC).
An order issued by Vohra through Jammu and Kashmir General Administration Department (GAD) said: “In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 4(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission Act, 201 1 (Act No. 1 of 201 I), 1, N.N. Vohra, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, hereby appoint Shri P.L. Gupta, IPS (Retd.) as the Chief Vigilance Commissioner in the State Vigilance Commission,” he said.
The appointment of P.L. Gupta shall take effect from the date he assumes charge of the post in the State Vigilance Commission, he added.
Meanwhile, Gazzanfer Hussain was appointed as the vigilance commissioner of the commission.
“In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 4(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission Act, 201 1 (Act No. 1 of 201 I), I, N.N. Vohra, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, hereby appoint Shri Gazzanfer Hussain, IAS (Retd.) as the Vigilance Commissioner in the State Vigilance Commission,” said another order issued by the Governor.
The appointment of Gazzanfer Hussain shall take effect from the date he assumes charge of the post in the State Vigilance Commission, Vohar said in his order.
