As the people across Kashmir are panicked by the unprecedented increase in the frequency in the braid chopping incidents in Kashmir valley the law enforcing authorities are watching the situation like mute spectators. The government failing to carry out its constitutional, institutional and administrative obligation in taking care of the life and property of the peoples though owes lot of explanations to the people on growing lawlessness in the state but unfortunately police and paramilitaries tasked with the job of addressing the internal security matters are showing helplessness in identifying the brad chopping culprits. With police allowing braid choppers to commit punishable offences under broad day light, a fearful atmosphere created by braid choppers is gradually generating atmosphere for yet another civilian unrest in Kashmir. Unfortunately the government is trying to change the braid chopping mystery into an issue political blame game just to deflect the attention of the people from its failures in creating a conducive atmosphere for peace and political. No government in any part of the world can remain a mute spectator to a fearful situation matching the one prevailing in Kashmir this time but Mehbooba government is becoming the one such single regime which does not show even a symbolic concern on the growing lawlessness triggered by increasing braid chopping incidents in Kashmir valley.

Sooner the police uses its own sources for arresting and punishing the real culprits of the braid chopping incidents the better it would be for the stabilization of peace and security in Kashmir valley.

Surprisingly police asks people not to take law into their own hands in combating the attacks from braid but does not act on its own to curb the movements of braid choppers in Kashmir valley. Though police has established help lines to get feedback from the people about the movement of braid choppers but have failed to check re-occurrence of braid chopping incidents twice or thrice in many areas of Kashmir valley. The casual approach of the police has not only created doubts among the people but is also creating a civil war like situation in Kashmir valley. People panicked by the braid chopping incidents and forced to stay indoors by a fearful atmosphere developing in the valley can’t find clues about the movements of braid choppers but police out on the roads for guarding the populated area can check the movements of braid choppers and more so during night hours. So the sooner the police uses its own sources for arresting and punishing the real culprits of the braid chopping incidents the better it would be for the stabilization of peace and security in Kashmir valley.
