Srinagar:  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Friday convened a meeting to review the rehabilitation plan for dislocated urban poor families.

During the meeting, it was revealed that the dislocated urban poor families on both sides of river Jhelum from Dubji Ghat to Cement Bridge, Pandrethan, Athwajan and Tschoent Kul besides those families who were shifted temporarily from Parimpora to Sumerbugh are to be rehabilitated at Rakh-i-Gundi Akhsha in Budgam.

It was said the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) has already identified 106 kanals of land at Rakh-i-Gundi Akhsha.

The Div Com directed the verification committee headed by SE Hydraulic Srinagar to finalize the task of verification of the left out families by October 29, 2017.

Besides, families who were temporarily shifted from Parimpora to Summerbugh will also be included in the survey list for verification of their genuineness. It was said DC Srinagar will finalize the list of these beneficiaries.

The Div Com said 2.75 marlas plots will be provided to each dislocated urban poor family at Rakh-i-Gundi Akhsha.

He directed the R&B Department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) with prototype design of the Cluster Township at Rakh-i-Gund Aksha within 10 days so that the dislocated families can be appropriately rehabilitated. He instructed that essential facilities be incorporated in the DPR.
