Srinagar: The Minister of Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Wednesday said several measures are underway to upgrade educational infrastructure in remote and far-flung areas especially border areas of the state so that better academic facilities are ensured to students there.

He said this while interacting with a delegation of students from Jamia Zia-ul-Uloom Group of Institutions, Poonch who are on five-day educational-cum-study tour to Kashmir. The group of students led by their Principal Wahid Ahmad Banday met the Minister here Wednesday.

While interacting with the Minister, the students informed that there is need to upgrade infrastructure in Government Schools of border areas on the modern lines.

Altaf Bukhari said schools in remote and border areas need to be equipped with computers and other smart class facilities so that students in these areas get benefited by the government initiatives and receive quality education.

The Minister assured the delegation that Government considers Private Educational Institutions as co-partners and not the competitors in dissemination of education. He said Government schools as well as private ones should work together for the betterment of education system in J&K.

On the occasion, Bukhari felicitated all the 29 students who were on the educational tour with medals.
