Albscete(Spain): Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Wednesday met with Spanish Agriculture officials here and sought their technical assistance and cooperation in the promotion of Kashmiri saffron at International level.
The Agriculture Minister was accompanied by Principal Secretary Agriculture Production, Sandeep Kumar Naik, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, and Chief Scientist, Dr F A Nehvi.
During their meeting with Spanish Agriculture officials, Hanjura briefed them about the high quality and uniqueness found in Saffron grown in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister told them that during his visit to Saffron fields in Spain, he found lot of similarity between saffron fields of J&K and Spain.
He sought cooperation and technical assistance from Spanish Government for further promotion of saffron grown in Jammu and Kashmir at international level.
During the meeting, Hanjura invited Spanish Agriculture officials to visit Jammu and Kashmir to boost cooperation and exchange of ideas in agriculture sector.
