Reasi: A team of Motor vehicle Department Saturday charged Rs 10500 fine from traffic violators during a surprise inspection in the main town areas.
A team comprising ARTO Shammi Sharma MV Inspectors Vikas Srivats and Sunil Sharma along with district police conducted checking at Trintha, Thapa Chowk and Baradari areas of the town and compounded 63 vehicles for not wearing crash helmet and seat belt as also not possessing Pollution control certificate.
The two wheeler riders and four wheeler drivers were also made aware about the safety benefits of wearing helmet and seat belt and following traffic rules to minimize road accidents and saving precious human lives. An amount of Rs 10500 was charged as fine from the offenders on spot.
