Altaf Bukhari takes stock of sports infra in Amira Kadal constituency

Srinagar: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Saturday conducted extensive tour of Amira Kadal constituency and took stock of sports infrastructure being made available for the people and especially for the students. He also listened to the grievances of the people and assured for their timely redressal.

The Minister was accompanied by Secretary, State Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Para, Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Hilal Ahmad Parray, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Director School Education, Kashmir, Dr G.N Itoo, Zonal President, Amira Kadal Constituency, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, officials from Youth Services and Sports and other sectoral officers.

During his visit to Rawalpora Rangreth, Bukhari announced that the sports ground will be established at an identified land where the children will be provided with facilities for multiple games.

On the occasion, a delegation of the residents of the area met the Minister and appraised him about the drainage related problems which has caused inconvenience to the residents. Promising the redressal of their issues, Bukhari said development project for drainage in the area already stands allotted and the work on the same will be executed soon.

On his visit to Government Girls High School, Rawalpora, the Minister announced that the school will be converted into Model Football School. He also announced that the community hall will be established in the area which will cater to the needs of the people living in the area. After visiting the nearby temple that lies besides the school, the Minister said it is our responsibility to take care of this temple and directed the concerned officials to install lights and take care of beautification of temple.

At Hari Nambal ground in Natipora, where the work for the development of ground is ongoing, the Minister announced Rs. 2 lakh for the construction of room for the sports academy.

While visiting Khal, Rambagh, Bukhari directed the officials to install high mask lights in the ground and also directed them to make a bore well for the ground. He also said leveling of ground will be done besides making track for jogging.

Bukhari also visited Bakshi Stadium, Gindun Stadium and Polo Ground where he directed officials to install lights and take proper care of cleanliness of the grounds. He also directed the officials to mark a proper boundary of Polo Ground where in various vehicles have been kept from some time.

On his visit to Synthetic Turf Football Stadium at TRC, the Minister announced that the entrance area of the stadium will be macadamized and also directed the officials to remove the nearby encroachment. He also said the football tournament to be organized for Amira Kadal constituency will be played in this stadium.

The Minister said the majority of the public parks and grounds in Srinagar fall in Amira Kadal constituency and there is a need to develop these places so that the large population of children can be benefited from them. He praised State Sports council for their commendable work in restoration of grounds after 2014 floods.
