Jammu: Deputy Inspector General of Police JSK Range, Rafiq Ul Hassan– after assuming his new assignment as DIG Jammu held introductory meeting with all territorial SSP, SDPOs, SHOs and Incharge Police Posts of district Jammu at Police Control Room Jammu and DPL Jammu respectively.
Hassan , while briefing the officers emphasized that prime duty of police is to uphold law fairly and firmly, to prevent occurrence of crime to pursue and bring justice to those who break the law. He reiterated that that we must provide help and relief to people in distress and every police officer/official shall behave with the public with the courtesy and decorum, particularly while dealing with women, senior citizens and children as we have been deployed to protect the weak, the under-privileged and to serve the people with a people-friendly attitude in order to gain public confidence. Police officers/officials must be very polite while dealing with common citizen and must deal with land/drug mafia with an iron hand; he added
