Tral/Oct,13: Army resorted to aerial firing to chase away protesters who had blocked their way to prevent them from entering a forest area in Tral area of Pulwama district where gunshots were heard earlier today.

Reports said that youth took to streets and blocked the way leading to Channad forest of Pastuna village of Tral.

Army men rushing towards the forest area fired shots in the air to disperse the protesters.

Earlier, Government forces launched a search operation and took help of choppers after gunshots were heard in the forest area in Tral area in south Kashmir.

“Forces have been rushed to the area and they are conducting searches as they suspect the presence of militants,” said an official.

Local reports said that gunshots were heard early Friday morning.

Meanwhile, an official said that forces are taking help of choppers in the search operation.
