Srinagar: Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Sundeep Kumar Nayak Monday convened a meeting of all the Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of Agriculture Department in Kashmir Division to review the financial scenario of different State and centrally sponsored schemes and projects under implementation by the Department.
Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi gave a detailed presentation of different financial achievements made by the Department under different schemes. During interaction, the DDOs of different districts and Sub-divisions of Kashmir Division informed the Principal Secretary about the status of expenditure under each component.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Secretary directed the concerned DDOs to make all the financial disbursements more transparent, easily accessible and time specific. He impressed upon the officers to spend the funds judiciously in a time-bound manner. He highlighted the importance of PFMS (Public Finance Management System) and directed the officers to adopt the practice and make requisite arrangements to get training of this system at different levels of administration.
Later, the Principal Secretary also took stock of developmental scenario of Apiculture, Mushroom, Vegetable cultivation and other allied sectors of agriculture. He directed the concerned officers to take public representatives and local legislators into confidence for speedy, transparent and effective implementation of different schemes and during the establishment of various assets under them.
Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Finance, Joint Directors Agriculture Extension/Inputs/Engineering also attended the meeting.
