Jammu: Acting swiftly on the complaint of the villagers, the department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs (FCS&CA) placed ration dealer of village Khour under Suspension and ordered an enquiry against him.
The action against the erring dealer as taken after a deputation of village Khour met Director FCS&CA R.A Inqlabi and complained that some ineligible people are figuring in PHH list which include a lecturer of the Education Department and a Dy. Superintendent of J&K police.
The complaint further alleged that deserving people have been left out of the list of beneficiary and the names of those persons have been included who don’t reside in village. It was also alleged that separate ration cards have also been made by dealer for un-married persons/youth.
Acting on the complaint, Director ordered the AD to suspend the dealer. An inquiry was also ordered in the matter and TSO FCS&CA, Bishnah was appointed as enquiry officer.
As per FCS&CA spokesperson, the Director during a meeting of the dealers held on September 25, 2017 had warned them of strict action in case any discrepancy is found after October 1, 2017 in the Ration Cards and lists.
He said the department would take similar action against all dealers found indulging in such practices.
