Srinagar/Oct/8; An army man hit by a bullet during search operation in Drung village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district died
Sources Monday said said that the army man received a bullet injury in his thigh during a late-night search operation in Drung village.
“He was rushed to PHC Khag where from he was referred to JVC Srinagar where doctors declared him as brought dead,” he said.
Hospital sources told Greater Kashmir that the trooper had received a bullet injury in his left high and succumbed due heavy blood loss.
The deceased was identified as Subedar Rajkumar of 53 Rashtriya Rifles stationed at Drang.
When contacted, Srinagar-based defense spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said the soldier was killed in cross-fire.
“A patrol party of a local army camp came under fire in Drang village. The fire was returned. However, one army man was killed in cross-fire,” he said.
