Ganga inaugurates Mega-Job fair

Samba: The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Friday inaugurated Mega Job Fair organized by District Employment and Counseling Centre in collaboration with Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India and National Career Service.

The program was attended by MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, DC Samba Sheetal Nanda, SSP, Anil Magotra , Director Industries and Commerce, Rajinder Singh ,Joint Director Employment Jammu , Anu Behl , GM DIC V.K Manyal  and AD DE&CC Naresh Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said such initiatives bring together employers, recruiters and job seekers on one common platform. He appreciated district administration and Employment Department for organizing such an event in the district.

The Minister informed that recruitment for 10000 posts in various government offices has been identified to be fast tracked by JKSSRB. He added that 41050 cases for PMEGP, KVIB, KVIC sponsored cases have been sanctioned by the central government which shall lead to creation of 30000 jobs per year.

He said mega honey clusters worth Rs 50 crores each for Jammu and Kashmir provinces shall be sanctioned soon which will greatly boost employment opportunities in both the regions.

MLA Samba, Dr D K Manyal also spoke on the occasion. He urged recruiters to show consideration towards candidates while asking for past experience. He also asked participating candidates to seek benefits of various government schemes and explore new opportunities by being ‘Entrepreneurs’.

The Job fair saw participation from seven companies that offered salary packages ranging from Rs 8000- Rs 30000 depending primarily on skill set of candidates. The career fair gave opportunities to aspirants having qualification like 10th,12th , ITI(2 years) , BA , MBA , BSC (Chemistry) , B.Pharmacy , Diploma/Degree in Engineering and to Ex-Servicemen.

Pertinently, 600 candidates had registered for job fair with approximately 300 posts being offered by the participating companies.
