Srinagar Cluster University Sports festival: Competitions in sports categories held

Srinagar: In the on-going maiden sports festival of the Cluster University Srinagar, contests in various sports categories were held on day-two as well.

Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina stormed into the finals of Kabadi, while as A. S. College and S. P. College Srinagar have entered into the Semi-finals of the Volleyball tournament.

In the Cricket contest, Zubair Bhat of S. P. College Srinagar scored the first half century of the tournament. In the matches played on October 4, and 5, S. P. College, Srinagar defeated Institute of Advanced Studies of Education by seven wickets, while as A. S. College thrashed A. A. A. Memorial Degree Colleges Bemina by 60 runs.

In Boys Badminton category, A. S. College defeated AAA Memorial Degree College, Bemina by a margin of 2-0, while as S.P. College Srinagar defeated Institute of Advanced Studies of Education by an identical margin. In another match, Boys team of Government College for Women, MA Road, Srinagar defeated Institute of Advanced Studies of Education by a margin of 3-1.

In the Girls Segment of the Festival, Government College for Women MA Road, Srinagar thrashed Institute of Advanced Studies of Education by 8 wickets.  In the Badminton event Government College for Women M.A. Road, Srinagar defeated AAA Memorial Degree College, Bemina in straight sets by a 2-0 margin.

In Girls Table Tennis, Government Women’s College, M.A. Road, Srinagar defeated girls team of AAA Memorial Degree College, Bemina by a margin of 2-0.

The sports festival shall continue for five days and culminate on October 10, 2017, with the prize distribution ceremony scheduled at Government College for Women, M. A. Road, Srinagar.
