Dir Agri(K) reviews progress of projects, schemes

Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi Thursday chaired a monthly meeting to review the progress of all State & Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

He undertook a detailed scheme wise review of the developmental scenario of different districts.

Joint Directors (Inputs/Extension) presented a detailed developmental scenario and achievements of their respective sectors. Various issues including progress of all the state & centrally sponsored schemes, special projects under the implementation during the year 2017-18, status of Soil Health Card Scheme, Geo- tagging of various assets established under different schemes across the Kashmir division, crop cut experiments, procurement of Oilseed, expenditures made in different sectors were discussed threadbare.

Different district heads of Agriculture Department present at the meeting informed the chair about the progress achieved under various schemes, programs and projects being implemented in their respective districts.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture expressed satisfaction over various developmental and innovative steps taken by the concerned officers and field functionaries in achieving the targets under various programs.

He acknowledged the feedback from some sections of media regarding the performance and functioning of field functionaries of the department in different districts of the valley.

Director Agriculture impressed upon the concerned officers that no laxity will be tolerated over the completion of different works and directed them to redouble their efforts to complete the targets under different programs within a stipulated timeframe.

He highlighted the fact that while implementation of different schemes programs and projects, the ultimate consideration that has to be kept in mind is the benefit of the farming community is served.

The Director Agriculture evolved the need to strengthen the bond between the farmers and department and appreciated the participants of meeting for their role in motivating the farming community in adopting new techniques in the field of Agriculture.
