Srinagar: A wreath laying ceremony was held at BSF headquarters Humhama on Wednesday to pay homage to BSF officer Brij Kishor Yadav, who was killed during the militant attack at BSF camp at Humhama near Srinagar Airport on Tuesday.Meanwhile BSF has said that militant attacks will continue till ‘friendly’ neighbor doesn’t behave.
The officers from Jammu Kashmir Police, BSF and CRPF were present on the occasion. Director General BSF, K.K Sharma, Inspector General of Police, Munir Khan led police and security force officers and jawans in laying floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the deceased BSF officer.
His body was later flown to his native village Sahebganj in Jharkhand. The 50-year-old BSF officer, survived by his wife and three children, is the latest in a long list of soldiers from Jharkand to get killed in volatile Kashmir Valley.
Meanwhile, the three non-local militants killed during a gunfight at Humhama near International Airport were buried last night in district Baramulla, sources said on Wednesday.
The trio had stormed the BSF camp just outside the airport on Tuesday triggering a gunfight.
Sources said that the deceased were buried in a graveyard in Gantamulla situated along the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway.
Meanwhile Director General Border Security Force, K.K.Sharma Wednesday said that militant attacks in Kashmir Valley will continue to take place, until and unless Pakistan doesn’t behave.
“We have been expecting more militant attacks “as long as our ‘friendly neighbour’ doesn’t behave,” Sharma told reporters
after participating in the wreath-laying ceremony of a slain BSF officer B.K Yadav, who was killed in a Fidayeen attack on Tuesday.
“As long as our ‘friendly neighbour’ does not behave, I think we will expect to have many more attacks. Fidayeens cannot be stopped from coming, so the response is important. Without causing collateral damage and without causing much harm to our own forces, we were able to neutralise. BSF has done a good job,” Sharma said.
