Srinagar: National Conference on Saturday reiterated its commitment to fight against nefarious designs that were conspiring to harm Jammu and Kashmir and deprive its people of their constitutionally guaranteed rights. Addressing a function at Party Head Office, ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar, National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said the party would leave no stone unturned to fight for the interests and rights of the people and wont’ allow PDP to compromise on the honour and the dignity of the people.
On this occasion forty Former Sarpanchs, Deputy Sarpanchs and Panchs from Bandipora District joined National Conference in the presence of NC General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, North Zone President Muhammad Akbar Lone, Senior Leader Muhammad Sayeed Akhoon, YNC District President Bandipora Dr. Ghulam Nabi and Youth Leader Sameer Iqbal Bhat.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party, NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani asked them to work with dedication and honesty in serving the people in the face of rampant corruption and misgovernance that had wreaked havoc with the State since the PDP-BJP Government came to power. “People are suffering in the face of unprecedented unemployment, rising inflation and a complete collapse of public utilities and services. Key public sectors are in ruins and people in far-flung areas have been neglected by the Administration. As conscious and conscientious political workers and activists, it is your duty to reach out to the people in these trying circumstances and work towards the alleviation of their problems and resolution of their grievances”, the NC Provincial President said.
Speaking on the occasion, NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani welcomed the new entrants into the party and asked them to work with vigour and honesty to strengthen the party at the grassroots level as it was National Conference alone that stood to safeguard the dignity and political rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir while other political forces and their Trojan Horses were out to sell their conscience for power. “The entry of a growing number of dedicated and committed political and social activists into the party is a sign of a groundswell of support for the party leadership’s fight to protect the State’s interests and we can all together defeat those forces who are inimical to the State’s integrity and prosperity”, the NC Provincial President said on the occasion.
Earlier reputed Trade Union Leader, Ghulam Ahmed Beigh of Makhdoom Sahib, Srinagar joined National Conference along with dozens of his supporters at a function held at NC Head Office, ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar in the presence of National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani.
The new entrants to the party pledged to carry forward the ideals and mission of the Party’s Founder, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and to strengthen the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in countering the nefarious designs of the PDP-BJP Alliance. (KNS)
