Srinagar: The Grand Mufti of Syria Dr Ahmad Badr Al Din Hussain called on Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports Molvi Imran Raza Ansari here Friday.
The two leaders discussed the issues facing the Muslim Ummah and called for unity and a joint fight against the powers that are out to divide Musli
The Grand Mufti said initiatives need to be taken to inculcate values of fraternity, integrity and peace among young generation. During the meeting, the Minister said Islam is the religion of peace and some elements are hell bent to defame this peaceful religion.
During the visit, the Grand Mufti was accompanied by Ambassador of Syria to India, Dr Riad Abbas; Advisor in Syrian Embassy, Nazen Nasri and other officials of Syrian Embassy besides Regional Director, ICCR, Balwant Thakur.
