Nayak distributes Point of Sale (PoS) devices among fertilizer dealers

Jammu: Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Sundeep Kumar Nayak, distributed Point of Sale (PoS) Devices to the eligible Fertilizer Dealers/Retailer of the Jammu Division during a Training-cum-Workshop Session organized here Thursday at the Auditorium of Directorate of Agriculture.

Speaking on the occasion, Nayak impressed upon the dealers to become well versed regarding the use and application of PoS Devices to facilitate the farmers who are the ultimate end users. He said the Training Program was held in the backdrop of the implementation of DBT in Fertilizers to the End Users as per the policy of Department of Fertilizers, Govt of India.

Principal Secretary also reviewed the progress made in this regard from the concerned Fertilizer Supplying Companies, J & K State Coordinator, Department of Fertilizers, Wholesalers and Retailers.

Earlier Director Agriculture Jammu, H. K. Razdan, who is also Controller of Fertilizers, J & K   emphasized on the importance of DBT in Fertilizers which has become indispensable as such the wholesalers and retailers should switch over to the new policy by making use of the PoS Devices being provided by the Department of fertilizers Government of India free of cost. He cautioned the Dealers that making sale of fertilizers without the use of PoS devices can invite an action to the extent of cancellation of fertilizer licensees.

The training was imparted to the dealers by the resource persons and team of experts headed by State coordinator, J & K Department of Fertilizers, Akhil Vaid in Coordination with the Department of Agriculture, Jammu, and Fertilizer Supplying Companies.

During the course of training program several queries/doubts regarding the use of PoS Devices raised by the dealers were clarified by the Resource Persons.

The Training-cum-Workshop was attended by over 100 Retailers/Wholesale Fertilizer Dealers besides Officers/Representatives of the Fertilizer Supplying Companies viz M/S National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (CFCL) and Indian Potash Ltd (IPL).

Others present on the occasion were S. S. Lakhanpuria, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), K. S. Sambyal, Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs), Bulesh Zutshi, Joint Director of Agriculture (SLUB), C. M. Sharma, Deputy Director of Agriculture (Central), Jammu, D. K. Kuchroo, DSSO, R. K. Bindroo, Agriculture Chemist, Jammu  O. K. Koul, State Manager, NFL, Mainsh Jain, State Manager, CFCL and Vishav Sharma, Marketing Officer, IPL.
