Srinagar: Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) representatives led by President Er. Mukthar Yousuf Thursday called on Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga.

The FCIK delegation brought several issues facing the Industries to the attention of the Minister during the meeting. Issues faced post implementation of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) in the State were also discussed in the meeting.

The delegation demanded notification of incentives announced for J&K industries under the GST regime.

Ganga apprised the delegation that the State government is actively pursuing the matter with the Union Government as well as examining the matter of SGST refund.

The FCIK delegation also requested earliest shifting of offices of the Industries & Commerce Department to Sanat Ghar at Bemina.

Issues of identification of more items for purchase through SICOP from MSMEs and shortage of staff in DICs and Directorate of Industries were also raised during the meeting.

The Minister assured the delegation of all possible support and also issued on the spot instructions for redressal of some of the concerns raised during the meeting.
