403 posts referred to JKSSB by Information, FCS&CA, LMD pending selection

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) will by the end of this year complete selection process of 403 posts referred by Information, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Legal Metrology Departments (LMD).
This information was given to the Minister FCS&CA and Information Department Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali by Secretary JKSSB Tassaduq Hussain at a meeting here Wednesday.
The meeting was convened by the Minister to review the selection status of various posts referred to JKSSB by the departments of Information, FCS&CA and LMD.
Responding to the concern raised by the Minister over the delay in the selection process, Secretary SSB assured him that the selection process of all 403 posts referred by the Information, FCS&CA and LMD would be completed by 31 December 2017.
The meeting was informed that since 2005 Information Department has referred 205 posts under different categories to SSB, out of which selection process of 49 has been completed, while the process for the rest 156 is pending.
Likewise, the concerned officers from FCS&CA revealed that the selection process of 233 posts referred to the board is yet to be initiated. 14 posts of LMD are also pending with SSB for the selection, the meeting was informed.
Expressing concern over the inordinate delay in the selection process, the Minister said the present Government had strengthened the JKSSB to expedite the selection process of referred posts.
Expressing dismay over the delay in completing the recruitment process, the Minister said despite getting all the Government support, the delay in selection by JKSSB is unwarranted. He said such delays put a question mark on the functioning of entire recruitment system.
Asking JKSSB to expedite the recruitment process, the Minister said there are many unemployed youth whose career gets adversely affected due to delay in the selection process. Quoting some examples, the Minister said there are some, especially girls whose marriages got delayed for want of job. Zulfkar Ali said as a responsible body it is imperative that the JKSSB expedites the selection of the referred posts.
The Minister directed the concerned heads of Information, FCS&CA and LMD to designate a nodal officer from their respective departments who will coordinate with JKSSB so that the referred posts are filled within the stipulated time.
He also directed that the respective departmental boards of Information, FCS&CA and LMD would complete the recruitment of various posts mainly class forth, which they are authorized to do, within a period of 45 days.
Commissioner Secretary Information Department M H Malik, Commissioner Secretary FCS&CA Shafiq Raina, Director FCS&CA Jammu, R A Inquilabi, Director FCS&CA Kashmir Nissar Ahmad Wani, Director Information, Muneer-ul-Islam, Special Secretary Information R K Katoch Joint Controller LMD Jammu V S Sambyal, Deputy Controller LMD and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
