Srinagar extends bail to JE’s husband in suicide case

Srinagar: A Srinagar court on Tuesday extended bail to husband of a junior engineer, Mudasir Aziz, who had allegedly committed suicide in May this year.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar extended interim bail to Javaid Ahmad Bangri of Illahi Bagh Soura including his sister and aunt till 6th October.
Previously, on September 21, the court had granted them bail.
The trio were imprisoned in central Jail Srinagar and were released after the court orders.
Mudasir Aziz reportedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum near Old Zaina Kadal Bridge. On June 23, her body was recovered in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An FIR (29/2017) was registered in police station M.R Gunj. The police arrested Javaid (Aziz’s persons from her in-laws family including her husband and booked them under sections 306 RPC (abetment of suicide), 498A RPC (domestic violence) and 120B RPC (criminal conspiracy).
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also constituted by the police headed by Deputy Superintend of Police Khanyar, to probe the death of the engineer.
Mudasir, 37 was mother of a lone child and a junior engineer by profession
