Srinagar: In connection with the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ sanitation campaign, the Department of Tourism Kashmir Tuesday launched a cleanliness drive at Tourist Reception Center here.
Director Tourism Mahmood A Shah, employees of the Department, and volunteers participated in the drive. Earlier, the Department organized similar drive at Gulmarg and Aharbal tourist resorts.
The sanitation campaign is aimed to ensure cleanliness and hygiene at tourist destinations.
“Kashmir is beautiful but this beauty needs to be taken care of. It is our responsibility to keep our tourist spots as well as surroundings clean,” Director Tourism said.
He directed all the officers to lead the cleanliness drives at all the tourist resorts and urged the people to take active part in the mission.
“If we keep our surroundings clean, it will also help us preserve the fragile environment and the beauty for the posterity,” Shah said.
Deputy Director Tourism Riyaz Beigh, SP Tourist Police Amarjit Singh and other concerned also participated in the drive.
