Srinagar: National Conference on Wednesday held a high-level meeting of senior functionaries from both Provinces of the State and reviewed the program for holding a State Level Convention in Srinagar to discuss various challenges being faced by the State. The meeting was chaired by NC General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar and attended by Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Jammu Devender Singh Rana, State Vice President Chaudhary Muhammad Ramzan, State Vice President Thakur Kashmira Singh, Former Minister Abdul Gani Malik, Provincial Secretary Kashmir Advocate Showkat Ahmed Mir and Provincial Joint Secretary Ghulam Nabi Bhat.
“National Conference will hold a State Convention to deliberate on various current issues and challenges being faced by the State. The convention will also take stock of party activities and programmes in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and will evolve new strategies and initiatives to further strengthen the party at the grassroots level. We will also discuss the current onslaught against the State’s special status and constitutionally guaranteed rights”, NC General Secretary said.
The meeting unanimously appreciated the clear and forthright stand taken by the Party Leadership on various issues especially that of Article 35-A, Article 370 and various other issues that directly affect the rights and dignity of the people, which was complimented by successful outreach programs and seminars across the length and breadth of the State. “People of J&K, irrespective of religion or region, have unanimously spoken in favour of protecting Article 35-A at all costs, thereby vindicating the stand of the party as espoused and articulated by our leadership”, the NC General Secretary said.
The NC General Secretary also reviewed the growth of the party in Jammu and Ladakh and lauded the functionaries for continuous outreach and public initiatives at the ground level. “National Conference is a cohesive bond of unity between the three regions of the State and our history bears witness to our commitment to serve the people of J&K without any biases or prejudice. Every citizen of the State holds and equal place in our vision for a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. Those divisive powers who are trying to fragment and divide the people on various sensitive issues through distortion and lies will be defeated by the unity shown by our people”, the NC General Secretary added.
The NC General Secretary asked the senior functionaries to continue with their efforts to involve more and more youngsters in party activities. “It is the youth of the State that will bring about a change and deliver us from the present atmosphere of hopelessness, misgovernance, opportunism and chaos. In encouraging the youth we are paving the way for a better future for the coming generations”, the NC General Secretary further said.
