Srinagar: Eshfaq ur Rehman Poswal, BJP leader, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here Wednesday.
Rehman discussed with Governor several issues relating to the development and upliftment of Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities of J&K including creation of a special Regiment for Gujjar and Bakkarwal youth; adequate funding to the State’s Tribal Affairs Department from the Prime Minister’s Rs. 80,000 crore package to improve the quality of life of these two communities; and certain issues relating to the development of Karnah Constituency, including construction of a tunnel across the Sadhna Pass for providing better connectivity to the people of his area.
Governor urged Poswal to continue sustained endeavours for the welfare and development of the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities.
