Jammu: Against the backdrop of mysterious braid chopping across the region, district administration has asked the police to register labourers and strangers visiting the district Doda of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, two-month restriction has been imposed on strangers and labourers visiting the district adding, ” the police department has also been asked to register the outsiders residing in the district in their respective police stations.”
As per an order issued, assembly of more than five people is also restricted with an imposition of Section 144 of CrPC, they added.
“We have not banned the entry of any outsider to the district but after consultation with the police, it was decided to register all new entrants especially those coming to stay, has to be registered,” Bhawani Rukwal, Deputy Commissioner Doda said.
Rukwal said initially, the implementation of an order will stay for a period of two months but it can also be revoked depending upon the circumstances.
Nearly 20 cases of mysterious chopping of braid were reported in Doda district in the past one-month.
