Budgam: Track 2 Diplomat and renowned Indian civil society member, O.P.Shaw who is in Kashmir Saturday organized a Round Table Discussion at Budgam based residence of senior separatist leader Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi. Scores of workers of Shia organization Anjuman Shari Shian participated in the discussion.
During the discussion the participants while laying stress on the resolution of Kashmir issue maintained that the uncertainty in Valley will prevail until and unless government of India doesn’t take the issue seriously and resolve it.
The participants alleged that government of India has been sidelining the core Kashmir issue and has been wasting time and energy on other immaterial issues.
“We categorically informed OP Shaw that Kashmir is a political issue that needs to be resolved as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir. Development and erosion of special status can’t bring peace in Kashmir, but the final resolution will,” Aga Syed Hasan said adding that Shaw was informed that people of Kashmir have animosity with Indians but only want a resolution to the issue that has been claiming innocent lives on daily basis.
O.P Shaw while confirming his meeting with Shia separatist leaders said that he is in Kashmir on mission. “Government of India needs to be serious and take steps in the final resolution of this long pending problem,” Shaw said and added that before this meet with Shia community, he already talked to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Professor Abdul Gani Bhat.
“I am in Kashmir till 21st of this month and on Sunday I will organize Round Table Discussion on Kashmir issue in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district,” he said.
