Kavinder inaugurates deve works

Jammu: Speaker Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta Thursday inaugurated multiple development works at ward no 42 of Gandhi Nagar constituency.

The works include upgraded lane and drain at lane no.1, Sec 2, Nanak Nagar completed at Rs 6.42 lakhs and repair, maintenance of lanes & drains under stage works near Vikas Model School, in the same area.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said it is the priority of Government to provide better road connectivity and drainage system in every locality.

Kavinder said upgrading work of road from Gurudwara to Preet Nagar will be resumed in a week’s time to meet the long pending demand of the locals. He said the road is being renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore

He exhorted upon the concerned departments for proper utilization of resources and strict adherence to quality nor

Reiterating his commitment to the all round development of Gandhi Nagar constituency, the Speaker said  several projects are under way to provide all basic amenities including better connectivity, safe drinking water, better sanitation to the people.

Asserting that the government has flagged improvement of road connectivity as top priority, the Speaker said it is co-related with the development as it promotes access to economic and social services.

Responding to demands of the locals, the Speaker assured them that all their genuine demands would be looked into on priority. He directed the concerned officials to take all necessary measures to address their issues at the earliest.

The Speaker directed the concerned officials to formulate a proposal for laying new pipelines to address the problem of water shortage in the area.

He said works pertaining to improvement of power and water supply, construction of lanes and drains and other civic works are high on Government’s agenda.
