Moscow: Turkey will buy four battalion sets of Russian S-400 air defence missile systems for more than 2 billion dollars, Russia’s leading business newspaper Kommersant wrote today.
“The Turkish Defence Ministry has signed a contract for the delivery of four battalion sets of S-400 systems to a sum over 2 billion dollar,” the newspaper said, quoting military and diplomatic sources.
A representative of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation told Interfax news agency yesterday that a contract for the delivery of S-400 systems to Turkey had been signed and Russia was prepared to begin its implementation.
However, Kommersant added that there are a number of outstanding questions pertaining to the S-400 deal.
“First of all, Turkey did not mention a loan for buying the weapons in the contract signed by Rosoboronexport, and that issue would require additional consideration.
