Srinagar: Normal life remained crippled for the second successive day Tuesday in parts of south Kashmir district of Kulgam, where two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants were killed in an encounter with security forces Monday this week.
Even though there was no strike call given by any separatist group, shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Khudwani and adjoining area in Kulgam.
However, business and other activities were normal in other parts of south Kashmir though security forces remained deployed in strength to maintain law and order and stop any protest.
Two HM militants, Sayar Ahmad Wani and Dawood Illahi Khan, were killed in an encounter with security forces, while an Over Ground Worker (OGW), Arif Sofi, was captured at Khudwani in Kulgam in the wee hours Monday this week.
