Political, civil society, business delegations call on Rajnath in Jmu

Jammu: Around 39 delegations comprising various political, social, business, travel and trade organizations from across Jammu called on Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh here Tuesday.
The delegations which met the Union Home Minister included Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Chamber of Traders Federation, delegation of Jammu Hotels and Lodges, Tourism Federation of Jammu, Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society, Taxi Tour and Travels, Jammu Bar Association, delegation of Kashmiri Migrants, Doda and Talwara Reasi migrants, various delegations of PoJK refugees, Civil Society Forum, All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee, Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, Rashtriya Gurjar Manch, Jammu Muslim Front, Jammu Shia Federation, Anjuman-e-Imamia, J&K Christian Dalit Society, All J&K Border United Front, Dogra Brahman Pratinidi Sabha and Rajput Sabha, Jammu Province People’s Forum, Jammu-West Assembly Movement, All J&K Gujjar-Bhakerwal Conference, Safai Karamcharis Union of Municipal Corporation Jammu, Raghunath Bazaar Traders Association, All Civil Society Forum and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
On the second day of his stay in Jammu, the Union Home Minister also met deputations of major political parties and independent MLAs. The delegations apprised the Home Minister about various issues and submitted written memorandu The political delegations included BJP, PDP, NC, Congress and others.
MoS, PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh, Union Home Secretary, Rajiv Gauba, Additional Secretary, Home, B R Sharma were also present.
Earlier, during his visit to Rajouri on Monday, Rajnath Singh reviewed the status of ceasefire violation-led migration in Nowshera, relief camps, rescue and rehabilitation measures as well as various issues and demands of border migrants.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Union Minister of State in PMO, DoNER, DoPT and Space Science Dr Jitendra Singh, Member Parliament Jugal Kishore, MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina, MLCs Surinder Choudhary and Vibodh Gupta, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba , Chief Secretary B B Vyas, Principal Secretary Home R K Goyal, DGP Dr S P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr Mandeep Bhandari, IGP Jammu Dr S D Singh and other officers of the civil and police administrations were present in the meeting.
Home Minister reviewed the status of various issues and held detailed discussions with public representatives and senior officers. He asked the officer from Central and State Government for comprehensive action plan about various issues and demands raised for welfare, settlement and safety of border residents.
District Collector, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary made a detailed presentation about problems faced by border residents, losses due to ceasefire violation including deaths, injuries, loss of private property and damage to schools and buildings. He also gave a brief resume about rescue and relief measures as well as facilities provided at camps.
Rajnath Singh appreciated the Divisional Administration Jammu and District Administration Rajouri for their meticulous and effective efforts for rescue, rehabilitation and relief measures. Later, making a special mention of district administration in his public address the Home Minister lauded the administration for exemplary efforts.
