Srinagar/Sept,10: Police on Sunday said that a militant was arrested along with weapon from the site of a gunfight in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
An official said that Adil, who had joined militancy in May this year, was apprehended by the forces after he emerged from the debris of the house in Barbugh village.Adil, a resident of Chitipora in Shopian, was immediately whisked away for questioning, said the official, adding body of another militant identified as Tariq Ahmed Dar was recovered from the gunfight site.
Government forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Barbugh in Imam Sahib area of Shopian last evening after getting information about presence of militants there.
