Srinagar: A militant was killed and a girl injured on Saturday after a gunfight broke out in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said that gunfight ensued after militants opened fire on an army vehicle in Burbugh village in Imam Sahib area of the district.
A militant has been killed in the gunfight so far, said an official.
“The operation in the area is still going on and police reinforcements have been rushed to the spot,” he said.
