Srinagar: The Minister for Cooperative and Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjey Wednesday convened a high level meeting with the officials of cooperative department where various issues of the department were discussed threadbare.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Cooperative, Mir Zahoor, Secretary Cooperative Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Registrar Cooperative, Peerzada Hafizullah and other concerned officials.

During the meeting detailed discussions were held for the renovation and face uplift of the Srinagar Cooperative super bazaar so that more consumers are attracted to the super bazaar where they can avail the discount benefits on various products ranging from 5% to 20%.

While taking stock of Cooperative assets available at various places, the Minister directed the officials to ensure that there should be no encroachment on those assets which, he said, are the backbone of the department.

The Minister further directed them to make defunct societies functional and the functional societies more convenient.

During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held upon the various benefits and issues regarding the service conditions of the institutional employees. The Minister directed the concerned officials to take up the matter and solve their issues at an earliest.

Dorjey further directed the officials to conduct cooperative societies’ elections in the pending districts of the State in a stipulated time frame.

During the meeting Mir Zahoor stressed upon the officials to work with zeal and dedication to bring back the lost glory of the department and to uplift it.
